Soaps’ Greatest Hits [May 1, 2015]

FRIDAY, MAY 1, 2015 (6pm ET/3pm PT) Some of popular music’s biggest hits became hits because of their association with soap operas. Don’t believe us? Well, we have seven hits — spanning jazz, pop, country, and R&B — that prove otherwise. Join us for a special “countdown” of some of soap opera’s greatest hits.

You need not be a fan of soap operas to know these seven hits. In fact, you may be surprised to know that some of these songs were so closely associated with daytime television. One hit was one of the biggest hits of a decade, one was a smash hit that sold more than a million copies, and another came from the mother of one of pop music’s hottest artists. Two of the songs featured also doubled as theme songs for soaps. Another was sampled for a hypnotizing hip hop anthem.

Need more hints? Well, you’ll just have to tune in… or rather listen to a special soap song hit list with selections from Soaps In Depth’s Richard Simms and Kroll Call host and soapcentral.com founder Dan J Kroll.
