FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2015 (6pm ET/3pm PT) Daytime’s biggest night, the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmys, takes place on Sunday, April 26. Soap In Depth’s Richard Simms and host-and-soapcentral.com guru Dan J Kroll offer their predictions on who they think will take home Emmy gold.
It’s an honor just to be nominated, but most people still want to win. This year, 32 performers are nominated in the various acting categories. And, barring any ties, only seven will win. But what exactly are Emmy voters looking for when they cast their votes? Do voters consider just the submitted episode (as they’re instructed to do), or do they consider other factors, such as previous nominees/material and personal matters?
This year, Soaps In Depth‘s executive editor Richard Simms and soapcentral.com‘s Dan J Kroll take a look at who might win an Emmy statuette from two different viewpoints. Dan weighs his picks on the Emmy reels submitted by each performer. Richard, on the other hand, will consider each nominee’s body of work in the 2014 eligibility period.
