Date Night On A Budget!

When you’re a teenager, looking for a cheap-and-easy date meant something a whole lot different than it does when you’re an adult. If you happen to be looking for advice on the former, you may have come to the wrong place. But if you’re looking for a way to create a special evening on a budget… well, come on in!
It’s easy to fall into the trap of believing that date night has to mean getting dressed up, going out to a nice dinner and maybe even a show. Heck, who doesn’t like doing that? But sometimes, it’s nice to remember that what’s really important about date night is the part where you get to sit together, enjoy one another’s company and remember what it is that you like so much about each other to begin with.
For example, one of the simplest things you can do is throw together an impromptu wine-and-cheese night. Chill a bottle or two of your favorite wines, throw together a platter with some nibbly bits and put some mood music on the stereo. Dim the lights, pop the cork and voila! Instant cozy time for you and your baby!
And who says you have to leave the house to see a movie? Now, a whole lot of people watch movies at home, but there’s a big difference between sort of half-watching a movie while each of you are checking Facebook or cruising the internet, and actually snuggling up on the couch to enjoy a favorite flick. Forget multitasking, and instead check out, say, Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day or Love, Actually.
This isn’t to say, of course, that you shouldn’t go out on proper dates — the kind where shoes are required and food is presented by waiters, even. It’s simply to suggest that sometimes, low-key is pretty nice, too.
