It’s taken twenty years, but the sequel to Dumb and Dumber is finally in theaters. What took so long?
According to co-star Steve Tom there were some problems in getting everyone on board. At first Jim Carrey was reluctant to do a sequel. Then, when it seemed that everything was set to go, the film lost its distributor. Eventually, United Artists stepped in and saved the day.
“That one thing that nobody wanted if a sequel was to be made was just to make one [solely] for the sake of making one and to rehash Dumb and Dumber jokes,” Tom said in a November 14 appearance on Kroll Call.
